Storm water flood chart assists municipalities in risk management

Climate change is leading to increased rainfall and more heavy rains. Storm water floods caused by precipitation and mealtwater are on the rise. Greater attention will have to be paid in the future to storm water flood risk management.

The Finnish Flood Centre has drawn up a provisional storm water flood chart. This will help communities to recognise flood risks caused by precipitation and meltwater.

Hydro-RDI-Network experts Mikko Sane and Mikko Huokuna together with Niklas Dahlberg write the matter in the Vesitalous 02/2021 Publication, in page 50.
